BOOM! Kuol Atak Commits To The Sooners

Porter Moser and the Sooners landed their second commitment of the 2024 cycle in sharpshooting power forward Kuol Atak. Atak stands at 6’9” and weighs 185 lbs. He is from Fort Worth, Texas. Atak is rated #101 nationally in the 247sports composite rankings and the #4 player nationally. Atak is also rated a top-19 PF in the class. He plays his high school basketball for Haltom, where he averaged 22.5 points per game and 5.1 rebounds per game and shot 43% from behind the arc last season.

Atak is one of the best shooters in the country, arguably the best as a forward. He is athletic, can shoot the lights out, grab rebounds at a high level, and even block shots. He has great length and a good frame. The athleticism, shooting, and size definitely excite Porter Moser.

This past summer, he played in the NXT Pro circuit and Atak was one of the most impressive players throughout the summer season. In one game, he totaled 31 points and was 6-14 from behind the arc. Atak also had a game in which he scored 28 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, and blocked two shots while shooting 10-18 from the field and 5-10 from behind the arc.

Kuol Atak joins Dayton Forsythe in the Sooners 2024 class. Should Atak move into the top 100 in the 247 composite rankings, he will be the fifth top-100 commit Moser has landed in three cycles. Players who shoot the ball as well as he does do not come around often, especially players as long and tall as him.

The Sooners will host Kuol Atak on September 19th for an official visit. Porter Moser continues to be hot on the recruiting cycle and will look to continue that as they will host Micah Robinson and Dillon Battie on official visits this month.
