The Sooners picked up their fifth commitment of the 2025 class as wide receiver Jaden Nickens announced his pledge this afternoon. Nickens is a 6'3, 190-pound, four-star wide receiver from Millwood High School in Oklahoma City. The four-star receiver chose Oklahoma over Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Arkansas, Texas A&M, and more. Jaden Nickens visited Norman on July 31st, and just two days later, on August 2nd, he announced his commitment date. Nickens' pledge bumps the Sooners up to 92.43 on the 247 class calculator for the fourth-ranked 2025 class. The Sooners only trail Georgia at 154.28, Alabama at 130.71, and Oregon at 94.39. Nickens is the 119th-ranked overall prospect, 20th-ranked wide receiver, and the third-ranked player in Oklahoma per the 247 Sports Composite Rankings.
Jaden Nickens is the Sooners' third OKPreps product, joining Carl Albert's four-star quarterback, Kevin Sperry, and Checotah's four-star wide receiver, Elijah Thomas. Nickens' commitment marks the tenth wide receiver to pledge to the Sooners after the hiring of Emmett Jones. Jones offered Nickens while he was at Texas Tech, and shortly after he arrived in Norman, he extended an OU offer to the hometown star. Jaden Nickens has all the talent necessary to be the next great wide receiver at the University of Oklahoma: great size, breakaway speed, and elite blocking ability. Nickens is one of the best run blockers in the '25 class, pancaking defensive backs repeatedly with ease to allow his teammates to score.
Jaden Nickens is a two-sport star at Millwood High School, as, at one point, he was the top-ranked player in Oklahoma in football and basketball. Nickens won his second straight 3A Basketball State Championship this spring with Millwood as the Falcons defeated Metro Christian 56-53. Jaden Nickens had 12 points in the State Championship. Nickens played AAU for Bradley Beal Elite 15U in 2022. He most recently played for Drive Nation at Peach Jam this summer.
