Sourced Note - Dominick McKinley
In my August Commitments article I put Dominick McKinley as trending toward OU. This was due to continued confidence from sources in and around OU about their position in the recruitment of the 5-star DL from Louisiana.
In recent days, Texas has seemingly made a push and their pitch has resonated with at least some members of the McKinley family. This has led to increasing confidence from some Texas sources that they are poised to pull even with the Sooners if that hasn't happened already.
From the OU side, the confidence has not wavered based on conversations I've had with a few sources today.
Things to watch in the short-term are whether McKinley holds to his reported plan to commit on or by September 1st or if this stretches out further. The longer it goes, the more Texas has the opportunity to make their case and LSU is lurking in the background as well.
