Thatcher has over 20 offers but he said the schools currently reaching out the most are, “Oklahoma, USC, Oregon, Arizona, Colorado, Missouri, Utah, UCLA.” The four-star linebacker spoke to the CrimsonCaptain about two schools he has visited, Oklahoma and UCLA.
UCLA: “UCLA Chip Kelly and Coach Lynn are awesome and Coach Norton is a wild man. The campus is beautiful and program looks like it’s headed in a great direction.”
Oklahoma: “I know the OU coaches the best and there is no negative to OU. I do love everything about the Program, coaches, culture, and fans.”
He expanded on his relationships and who he is in contact with the most at Oklahoma saying, “With OU it’s Coach Roof and Coach Murray who I have the most contact with. They are both such great guys. Coach Roof I feel so comfortable with and really enjoy being around him.”
Christian Thatcher has visited Oklahoma twice, most recently for the “Sooners under the Stars” event. Here is what Thatcher had to say about his trips to Norman, “The first time I visited OU with my dad and grandpa and loved everything about it. When I visited the second time my dad, mom, brother were able to come experience also which was same experience as first for all of us. The thing that stood out the most was just how friendly and kind all the coaches are and I enjoyed getting to work out a little bit in front of the coaches. We are very excited to come experience what a game is like this year.”
Thatcher told the CrimsonCaptain he has plans to visit Norman on a gameday this year. “I already know it’s going to be incredible. I’m just really looking forward to experiencing it,” said Thatcher.
